Sodex Mobile 1.1.17 improves SDX-PocketScan connectivity, scan capture, measurement handling, uploads, and settings. It also adds clearer retention and processing behavior while making the app more reliable during interruptions.
Summary
Sodex Mobile 1.1.17 is available in the App Store. This changelog consolidates the final shipped behavior across builds 9–13, dated August 11–20, 2026, rather than treating each build as a separate release.
The release focuses on more reliable SDX-PocketScan connections, clearer account and on-device settings, more predictable capture and processing behavior, improved scan and measurement management, and better upload and export feedback.
Key highlights
Clearer account and on-device settings
The redesigned Settings page separates preferences that can be synchronized with your account from options that apply only to the current device. Reworked picker sheets make it easier to choose the language, appearance, measurement units, visualization, and processing mode.
Where account synchronization is enabled, supported settings such as language, measurement units, processing mode, NTRIP profiles, and cloud-sync status can persist to your account and be restored across sessions or devices. Organization-managed NTRIP configuration remains separate from user-profile settings. US Survey Feet and other settings now save correctly for US-server accounts.
For details, see Sodex Mobile Settings and Manage NTRIP profiles.
More reliable receiver connectivity
Sodex Mobile now handles SDX-PocketScan connections more consistently. Supported receivers can provide GNSS updates at 10 Hz, and receivers with firmware 1.11 or later use in-app shutdown while they are connected.
NTRIP reconnects more quietly after the phone is unlocked or the network returns. A caster that does not respond to a version 2.0 handshake receives one version 1.0 retry after a five-second timeout before the normal reconnect loop continues. The app also gives clearer connection messages and retries screens that failed because there was no connection.
For receiver workflows, see GNSS Receiver Management.
Safer capture and processing behavior
Capture controls and processing prompts now reflect the current connection, license, and organization-managed processing mode more consistently. License status is refreshed before the processing choice is evaluated, so the app does not rely on stale local license information.
Photogrammetry requires an actively connected SDX-PocketScan. If a connection is interrupted, Sodex Mobile briefly tries to restore the selected processing choice. If the reconnection window expires, the app continues with photogrammetry and explains the change.
Ground Control Point (GCP) follow-up flows now use the processing mode selected when the capture was made. Deferred Awaiting GCPs jobs open the appropriate flow, and older jobs with incorrect processing labels can recover instead of remaining stuck.
New installs and default resets use a 30 fps capture default. The PLY Mesh and smoothed depth-map options are no longer included in those defaults. Existing saved settings are not changed unless you reset them.
More predictable measurements and scan data
Measurement names can be duplicated, and renaming or changing a name during creation saves correctly. The optional unified attributes sheet combines the measurement name with SDX-CAD fields and provides search, type filters, and searchable pickers. Canceling the sheet discards the in-progress measurement, while automatic naming reuses the lowest available Point, Line, or Area index.
New scans remain associated with their creator after sign-out and are automatically deleted seven days after creation. Scan details show the deletion date and include a new Info tab. Existing scans are not changed by the new user association behavior.
Configured units now apply consistently to local point-cloud distances, areas, and volumes. Cut and fill volumes display in yd³ for International Feet and US Survey Feet, and in m³ for metric units. Stored measurement data is unchanged.
Clearer uploads and exports
Jobs and exports now provide more useful progress information, including preparation states, live speed and byte counts, smoother remaining-time estimates, clearer success and error feedback, and better spacing so the last job is not hidden.
Manual and background uploads can run without canceling one another. Canceling one upload does not cancel the others, and signing out while work is active asks for confirmation. Local and shared exports use the same progress alerts and include scan metadata, photos, and raw or RGB frames.
Easier navigation and interaction
The release adds sticky and blurred navigation chrome, live E/N/H values in the pole-map header, consistent sheet and toolbar styling, improved login styling, storage and scan-count chips, and a shared discard confirmation. Toolbar and measurement actions have larger tap targets, related actions are grouped, and Support is placed below the cloud-sync and device-local settings.
Fixes and improvements
Settings and connectivity
- The Settings layout now distinguishes account-synced preferences from On this device options.
- Language, appearance, units, visualization, and processing-mode pickers use a consistent sheet layout.
- Local-only options are labeled as device-local instead of appearing to be account preferences.
- NTRIP profile edits and default-profile changes persist to the account where account synchronization is supported and reconnect the active client when required.
- The last remaining NTRIP profile cannot be deselected into an empty state.
- Phone GPS is used for NTRIP GGA data only when needed and is released when the connection is idle, disconnected, or repeatedly failing.
- Launch and connection states now provide explicit connectivity messages instead of leaving the user without feedback.
- When connectivity returns, a screen that failed because of the missing connection retries once.
- The app reconnects more quietly after lock and unlock or network recovery.
- US Survey Feet and other user settings save correctly to US servers.
SDX-PocketScan and receiver management
- On receivers with firmware 1.11 or later, the physical touch button does not shut down the receiver while it is connected; use the in-app shutdown action instead.
- Supported receivers stream at 10 Hz instead of 5 Hz.
- The in-app LED guide now explains incoming correction-data cyan impulses, RTK-fix states, and charging states more clearly and provides a clearer Done action.
- Pole height is written to the receiver in millimetres, so changing display units no longer sends an incorrect height.
- Signing out disconnects the receiver on every sign-out path.
- Device lists refresh after shutdown or disconnection.
- Pending connection states are clearer, and a 15-second connection timeout provides feedback when a connection cannot be established.
- A remembered reconnection target changes only after a successful connection.
- Where supported, receiver status shows the configured target update rate and the measured GNSS update rate.
- Receiver configuration uses geoid altitude mode when the connection is established.
- Bluetooth reconnection starts promptly unless you explicitly disconnected the receiver, survives Bluetooth toggling, and continues retrying while the receiver is not ready.
- The Reconnect action works even when Auto-connect is off.
- Healthy 10 Hz streams no longer show a false missing-GNSS warning.
- Optional receiver debug logging is available under Settings > Support for troubleshooting.
Capture, scanning, and processing
- Mapping and capture controls now follow connection state, license availability, and organization-managed processing mode consistently.
- The app resolves the current license before presenting the LiDAR or photogrammetry processing choice and preserves the saved preference while loading.
- Photogrammetry selection requires an actively connected SDX-PocketScan.
- A short reconnection grace period can restore the processing choice after an interruption; if it expires, the app falls back to photogrammetry with an explanation.
- GCP follow-up behavior is based on the processing mode used at capture time rather than only on the license tier.
- Tapping a deferred Awaiting GCPs job opens the correct follow-up flow.
- Older jobs with incorrect processing labels can recover instead of remaining stuck.
- If a LiDAR session starts with an all-zero depth map, the app attempts one silent session restart. If capture still cannot start, it shows a clear dialog.
- If depth confidence collapses during a scan, the app uses audio and haptic feedback without stopping the scan automatically.
- Camera-pose metadata is more reliable during background processing and interruptions.
- AR-view recreation crashes and incoming-call or interruption deadlocks during scanning were fixed.
- Off-page previews pause, the pre-countdown preview is lighter, and capture setup is completed during the countdown to reduce CPU and battery use.
- The app blocks scan start when device heat is critical and continues to provide in-scan thermal feedback.
- New installs and default resets use 30 fps, do not include PLY Mesh or smoothed depth-map options, and require three consecutive qualifying over-limit candidates before motion alerts or capture blocking are triggered. Existing saved settings are unchanged.
- Binary PLY point-cloud exports reduce overhead, and unused merged mesh data is no longer included in upload ZIPs.

Scans, measurements, projects, and media
- Scans are not deleted when you sign out.
- New scans remain visible to their creator and are automatically deleted seven days after creation.
- Scan details show the deletion date, a new Info tab, and revised button placement.
- Folder breadcrumbs persist when you leave a project and after a cold launch.
- Locate Me now handles accuracy checks, stale fixes, and timeouts more reliably and recenters the map more consistently.
- The optional unified attributes sheet combines the measurement name with SDX-CAD fields after capture.
- Search, type filters, and searchable pickers make attribute selection easier.
- Canceling the attributes sheet discards the in-progress measurement.
- Automatic naming reuses the lowest available Point, Line, or Area index.
- Duplicate measurement names are allowed, and renames or creation-time name changes save correctly.
- Default field values save in both normal and speed modes, and edit-screen dropdowns respond to one tap.
- Local point-cloud distances, areas, and volumes respect configured units.
- Cut and fill volumes use yd³ for International Feet and US Survey Feet and m³ for metric units without changing stored data.
- Image previews are clearer, session-photo thumbnails are cached, and bounded image decoding improves scrolling.
- Upload images are resized, camera white-bar issues are fixed, and previews are improved on smaller phones.
For layer-based pole measurements, see Sodex Mobile: Capturing measurements with the SDX-Pole Antenna.
Jobs, uploads, and exports
- Upload logging persists more reliably across sessions.
- Upload ZIP identification is more stable, and completed uploads are marked successful promptly while background verification continues.
- If an expected ZIP is missing, processing starts again instead of consuming retries without progress.
- Sodex Mobile checks available storage before export and cleans up temporary files.
- Manual and background uploads share capacity without canceling one another.
- Per-upload cancellation is isolated, so canceling one upload does not cancel unrelated uploads.
- Signing out during active uploads or background jobs requires confirmation.
- Preparation phases, byte-based speed labels, remaining-time estimates, and job-list spacing are clearer.
- Upload alerts show live speed and byte counts, project selection, success or error feedback, and cancellation confirmation.
- Navigation can hand work to background jobs without stopping unrelated uploads.
- Upload cancellation offers Keep Uploading or Cancel Upload.
- Export progress uses the same alert system.
- Local and shared ZIP exports contain metadata, photos, and raw or RGB frames.
Navigation and UI polish
- Navigation chrome is sticky and blurred where appropriate.
- The pole-map header shows live E/N/H values.
- Sheets, toolbars, and login styling are more consistent.
- Storage and scan-count chips make capacity and scan totals easier to see.
- Discard confirmations use a shared pattern across the app.
- Toolbar and measurement actions have tap targets of at least 44 pt.
- Related actions are grouped, and Support is positioned below cloud-sync and device-local settings.
