If heights differ within one scan, or repeated passes do not line up after use on a vehicle or with a non-standard mounting, first decide whether the scan is inaccurate against itself (relative) or only against your reference data (absolute).
Relative or absolute
Compare two passes over the same ground. If they differ from each other, the scan is relatively inaccurate. If they agree with each other and differ from your design or rover points by a constant amount, the reference data does not match. See SDX-Cloud: Scans are shifted by a constant offset.
Check coordinates and corrections first
Confirm that the project coordinate system and the correction service are the same for all passes before you change the calibration.
Check the mounting and the conditions
Check that the mounting is stable and in its normal orientation, see Mounting the SDX-Compact. Also check GNSS conditions, the environment, and the scan range.
No Thresholds Defined!
This is a separate message. It appears when the machine profile is missing. Add or select the machine profile.
Calibrate again only if needed
A new calibration needs bidirectional high-resolution scans with visible targets or control points and rover measurements to check the result. If the system is no longer on site, or no raw GPS or new calibration scans exist, the error cannot be repaired afterwards. Contact Sodex Support to plan the next step.
What to send to Sodex Support
- System serial number and the project
- How the system was mounted and moved
- Which passes differ and by how much
- Rover measurements, if any
