This article explains how to import a reference terrain model into a System Project in SDX-Cloud. A reference terrain can serve as the baseline for analyzing cut/fill differences and validating construction progress. In SDX-Cloud, you can upload a DXF or LandXML file into a system project, allowing automatic comparisons with ongoing system scans.
Prerequisites
Make sure you have the following ready:
- System Project in SDX-Cloud
- Reference terrain file (DXF or LandXML)
- File must use the same coordinate system as your project scans
Import a Reference Terrain in a Project

Important:
You must first upload the reference terrain file via the
File Explorer in SDX-Cloud.
Only then can it be assigned to a project.
Important Notes
- Once uploaded, the terrain is automatically available for cut/fill analysis and scan comparison.
- Reference terrains in .dxf must be present as a 3D mesh. If importing doesn't work, contact support.
