If photogrammetry processing fails with "Zu wenig Bilder mit Overlap" (too few images with overlap) after a scan of mostly leaves, the images do not contain enough stable features that appear in several images. Moving vegetation does this.
Why it fails
Photogrammetry matches the same points across overlapping images. Leaves that move between shots cannot be matched.
What does not help
Uploading or processing the same images again does not add the missing information.
What helps
Capture again with slow, steady movement and enough overlap, and include stable objects such as ground, rock, or buildings. If the scan was made with SDX-PocketScan, a LiDAR point cloud from the same recording can be imported instead. Its quality depends on the path that was recorded.
